Movies

         Going to the movies is fun!! If I met a person new to the area, I would take them to see a movie.  We watch movies at the movie theater.  There is a great theater at Oak Hollow Mall.  When you go to the movies you have to buy a ticket.  Tickets cost about $10.  You can buy popcorn, drinks and candy to eat at the movies. Have a good time at the movie!

Oak Hollow Mall

If a person is new to High Point a good place to visit is Oak Hollow Mall. Oak Hollow Mall is open Monday to Saturday 10:00am-9:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm-6:00pm. Oak Hollow Mall is on 921 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  At the mall, you can eat at Golden Corral and you can eat food and deserts.  Also, you can go to Shoe Show to get some shoes and boots. You can go to GameStop to get games for your GameBoyand for your PSPand your XBox360. Grandfather Mountain

One place to visit in North Carolina is Grandfather Mountain.  It has big and small mountains and there is a museum.  It also has animals in the water. It took my family about 2 to 3 hours to get there by car from High Point.  The cost for an adult is about $15 and a child about $7. The mile high swinging bridge is  a little scary when you walk across it. If you want to visit the website, you can go to www.grandfathermountain.com for more details. One thing about Grandfather Mountain is that it is a huge place to visit and explore.  It also has a store and a restaurant near the parking lot.

Food Lion

Food Lion is a grocery store. It is a place were you can buy food. It can be found on Westchester Drive or North Main Street. You can buy fruit like grapes, watermelon and strawberries. You can also buy vegetables such as broccoli, carrots and onions. You can also buy other things like flowers and napkins. This store has a lion as a symbol. Middle School

My blog will be about middle school. We enter our school and then we go to the cafeteria if we want to eat breakfast. Then we go to lockers and to our class. In our school we have eight teachers. You have four core classes and four encore classes.  One of my classes is physical education. In PE class you will play fun games if you dress out. If you don’t being your PE clothes you will get a bad grade. Some of the other encores are music, business, Spanish and more.  Your core classes are math, language arts, science and social studies. Our cores last 1 hour and 30 minutes.  Ferndale has great teachers, like Mr. Biles, Ms Hoffman and Mr. Jordan. You can have good days and bad days.  We have bench marks every quarter.  Have a good time in middle school!

Halloween

The coolest holiday in the USA is Halloween. Halloween is only one time during the whole year. Halloween is on October the 31st. On Halloween, you can wear some creepy costumes and some pretty costumes, for example like some people wear witch costumes, ghost costumes, princess costumes, skeleton costumes, and others. After you are all dressed up, you go from house to house by saying “TRICK OR TREAT” and people give you get a lot of candy! It is a really good holiday; I think you will enjoy it also just like I do. Hearing all of this might make you think “I wish Halloween would come soon.”Actually it already passed, so you have to wait until next October.  

Guilford County Schools

         Guilford County Schools is the school system for High Point. When I came to the United States I moved to High Point and I went to GCS Newcomers School to learn how to speak English. The Newcomers School helps new students learn English.  The Newcomer is like family school. In North Carolina school begins in August and finishes in June. Once a student finishes the year at Newcomers then you go to your regular school. I move to Ferndale Middle School. Ferndale is a great school. I have also heard about Guilford Elementary for little kids. It’s great school for kids. I also know about High Point Central High School.  It has a lot of classes. There are 67 elementary schools, 22 middle schools and 26 high schools in Guilford County. There are several awesome schools in Guilford County!
